Dr. Jennifer Roberts

Dr. Roberts served public education for 7 years as an elementary and secondary school counselor and for 10 years as the Director of Student Services for Lamar Consolidated Independent School District, where she provided clinical and professional support for counselors, social workers, nurses and directed the district Crisis Response Team. Currently, she teaches graduate counseling courses in the Clinical Mental Health programs for Liberty University and Houston Christian University. In addition, she provides suicide prevention support for the school-based suicide prevention platform Hope Squad.

 

She is passionate about taking a proactive approach to supporting students’ wellbeing and has long championed resources that meet that goal. Appointed by the Texas Education Agency to serve on the HB906 School Mental Health Task force, Dr. Roberts has been involved in projects that help inform legislation regarding school mental health supports for students. Dr. Roberts has presented at the international, national, state and local levels advocating for school communities to embrace the whole child when it comes to education and wellbeing.

 

Involved in her community, Dr. Roberts has served on the Texas Southern University’s College of Education Counselor Education Advisory Board, and the Fort Bend County Child Advocates Advisory Council.
