Dr. Connie Almeida

Dr. Connie Almeida is a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Maryland in 1985 followed by a post-doctoral specialization in developmental disabilities at the University of Massachusetts.

Dr. Almeida has provided and managed clinical services to children and adults with mental illness, substance abuse, intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 35 years. Her areas of expertise and interest include assessment and treatment of children and families with mental illness, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, co-occurring disorders, infants and toddlers, integrated systems of care for persons with complex needs, forensic psychological and clinical services, criminal justice diversion initiatives, program development and evaluation.

In October of 2010, Dr Almeida joined Fort Bend County as the founding Director of the Behavioral Health Services Department.

Our Vision

Collaboratively work with the courts, criminal justice, other county departments, behavioral health providers and community organizations to develop needed services to support at risk individuals with behavioral health disorders. Our goals are to foster resiliency, reduce recidivism, support reintegration, recovery and family reunification.
